Stage Manager- Rough House's "The Walls of Harrow House"

Rough House is looking for a non-AEA Stage Manager for their upcoming fall show, The Walls of Harrow House, an immersive, horror puppet show (not gore or slasher, but more mind horror) that features Milton Harrow a prominent architect and his various creations.

There will be some sporadic workshops over the summer, dates TBD. Regular rehearsals will take place in August and September, with roughly 4-5 per week, for about 20-25 hours total (likely 4 rehearsals in August, 5 closer to tech in mid-September). The specific schedule will be built once the show has been cast so we can take performers and Stage Managers schedules into account. Workshops will be at the Rough House studio, rehearsals will likely be at Adventure Stage Chicago, Performances in the basement of the Chopin from October 9-Nov. 10, 2018.

Compensation is $750 (paid in three equal installments, 1st upon contract signing, second at opening, third at strike) plus a 2.5% box office royalty.

Skills & Qualifications: 

General Overview:* 

Stage Manager will oversee and manage rehearsals with the Director by sending out appropriate communication to performers and production team and tracking blocking and movement of the show, performers, puppets and props;. Stage Manager will oversee the calling/board operation of lights and sound elements during performances, supervise Assistant Stage Manager and their tasks, maintain the integrity of the performance, work to provide a safe atmosphere for the performers and audience members, and send out appropriate communication to performers and production team.

Stage Managers with experience working on immersive projects and/or puppet theater are encouraged to apply.
