Social Media Intern

The Howard Area Clubhouse, located in Rogers Park, is looking for a social media intern to handle our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat. Our ideal applicant possesses a strong knowledge of the digital media landscape (in the realm of nerd culture will be a huge bonus), is capable of posting blogs on our website, can understand Google Analytics, can monitor and document our number of followers and subscribers, can promote our Clubhouse, and must work well with our youth.

Responsibilties include:

  • Work with Clubhouse staff and youth to create and implement campaigns

  • Monitor analytics with social media team to identify viable ideas

  • Create engaging blog and social media about our Clubhouse and other related content on our website

  • Assist in the general distribution of press releases and media alerts

  • Provide support to our Clubhouse during our public Expos

Skills & Qualifications: 
  • Must be pursuing or currently have a BA in Communications or related field

  • 2+ years’ experience in social media/marketing

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • In-depth working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest and Google+

  • Experience with social media analytics, including Google Analytics and Facebook Insights

  • Knowledge of geek culture a plus
