Position Title:           Institutional Giving Assistant

Position Reports to:  Senior Director of Institutional Giving & Manager of Institutional Giving



The Institutional Giving Assistant is responsible for coordinating the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship process for all Corporate, Foundation and Government (CFG) prospects and performs needed clerical tasks in support of the Institutional Giving area.



  • Coordinate visibility, recognition, ticket requests and other benefit fulfillment for all institutional donors, sponsors and prospects
  • Work with the Graphics and Marketing departments in coordinating CFG graphic requests, sponsor logo approvals and marketing materials for the Development department
  • Coordinate and track all CFG donor invitations to Goodman events
  • Support front-line fundraisers and trustees in preparation for solicitation of Corporate sponsorships and Foundation/Government grants, including developing proposal materials
  • Assist in the preparation of sponsorship proposals, grant applications and reports by compiling, writing, editing, and proofreading information as assigned
  • Serve as point-person for the corporate annual fund giving (Corporate Connections) campaign
  • Process CFG gifts, create gift acknowledgements and provide accurate donor lists for print and web
  • Maintain and update Tessitura CRM database with organizational contacts for invitation lists, fundraising reports, and publications
  • Serve as the primary point person for all corporate entertainment events at the Goodman
  • Assist in preparation for trustee meetings
  • Provide additional clerical support to the CFG giving program as needed to ensure that departmental priorities can be met
  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • Entry-level development position and/or event experience a key asset
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to manage numerous projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, to seek input and to take direction
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint); Tessitura Database experience a plus
  • Sensitivity to confidentiality
