This unique camp brings together young people between the ages of 7 and 14 who have experienced the death of a parent to celebrate the healing power of creative play. Through the exploration and creation of theatre, music, and dance, Hearts to Art encourages communication and collaboration, fosters emotional growth, and provides the consolation of friendship and compassion. Through interaction with young people who have experienced a similar loss, campers understand they are not alone.
Camp Registrar
The Camp Registrar is essential to the organization of campers and families. The position includes frequent contact with families, creation of our camp database and camper files, and transportation set-up. The camp registrar starts working in the office in the spring to help prepare for the camp season again and keeps working after the final week of camp to wrap up the program. During camp, the Registrar facilitates the check-in and check-out of campers and is also the liaison between caregivers and staff on a daily basis. Exceptional organizational skills and an attention to detail are necessary. The ideal candidate has experience working with young people as well as working in an office environment. They are an independent worker, with an ability to learn on the job and display flexibility. They preferably also have experience working with or training and understanding of populations dealing with loss and trauma as well as knowledge or passion for the arts.
