Film Teaching Artist to teach ages 5-12 at Summer Arts Camp - August 20-31, 2018

The Beverly Arts Center located at 2407 W 111th Street, Chicago, IL 60655 offers an extensive, engaging, and diverse summer camp experience. The Summer Arts Camp runs in two week sessions beginning June 11, 2018 and ending August 31, 2018, Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:00pm. Students are broken into age groups: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and teens and rotate through a series of Teaching Artists throughout the day based on the theme of the session.

The final session of Summer Arts Camp (August 20-31, 2018) is Film Camp. Looking for a Film Teaching Artist to teach students about the art of Film, which could include simple lesson plans regarding: Directing, Editing, Basic Camera work, Claymation, Story-Boarding, Lighting and Sound, or other subjects. Must have own camera and editing equipment. The goal is for students to have something to show at their Film Premiere event from 4-5pm on the final day of camp. Film Teaching Artist will work with other Teaching Artists to put this event to gether with the students. Pay is $20 per hour, play $10 per hour for editing time, and a $100 equipment usage fee paid to the Teaching Artist.

Skills & Qualifications: 

Teaching Artists must hold degrees in their fields of study and/or have significant, professional experience in their field and be able to pass finger-printing and a background check. Excellent communication skills, solid transportation, dependability including the ability to arrive on-time and prepared, and best teaching practices are required.
