Ceramics Teaching Artist at LIllstreet Art Center

Lillstreet Art Center is a large community of artists and students working side-by-side in a friendly environment which encourages and inspires artistic growth in the individual. Lillstreet Art Center supports the arts through our educational programming, artist residencies, gallery exhibitions and retail sales opportunities, studio rentals and arts-based professional development.

Lillstreet Art Center is looking for instructors to teach in our Ceramics Department. We are specifically looking for those that can teach either one or more of the following subjects:

-Slip-casting/mold making



-Glaze formulation/chemistry

-Figurative Sculpture

Lillstreet offers 5 and 10-week ceramics classes as well as shorter workshops. Instructors can choose opportunities that fit their schedule and availability. You must be comfortable working with adults of all skill levels.

Skills & Qualifications: 


-Bachelor’s degree in arts or higher or 5+ years as working artist.

-At least two years previous teaching experience, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.

-Positive, professional and motivational.

-Excellent people skills.

-Cover letter

-8-10 image portfolio of personal work

-Teaching philosophy

-3 references (both personal and professional)

-Up to 6 images of student work (if available)
