MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

 

Located in Chicago's historic Beverly/Morgan Park/Mt. Greenwood neighborhood, the Beverly Arts Center is a multidisciplinary space offering fine arts education, programming and entertainment for all ages. The BAC offers classes in visual art, music, dance, film, and theater; rotating art exhibitions by established and emerging artists and a dynamic series of professional plays and concerts. The 40,000 square foot building is home to a 400-seat theatre, an art gallery and two alternative exhibition spaces, music and art studios, art classrooms and event rental spaces including a courtyard and sky lit atrium.

The Beverly Arts Center (BAC) is seeking a strategic and creative Marketing and Communications Coordinator to support and drive the organization’s marketing goals.  Reporting to the Development and Marketing Director, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator will oversee internal and external marketing and communications that promotes and increases the BAC mission, artistic programming and events; enhance our exposure in the community; maintain a strong brand visibility throughout the neighborhood, surrounding communities and Greater Chicagoland-area; and build relationships with business/neighborhood partners, audiences, media and educational institutions.  The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for all marketing and communications initiatives for the Beverly Arts Center to promote its diverse arts program offerings including marketing, communications, social media, website oversight, press releases, development support and branding.

JOB DUTIES

Marketing

·       Develop and execute tailored marketing and sales campaigns to reach goals across all streams of programming; monitor sales to determine ROI on marketing campaigns

·       Manage advertising budget and allocate to both print and digital platforms; oversee creation and distribution of all print collateral for BAC adhering to established branding

·       Oversee digital campaigns such as Google Display, Facebook and Instagram

·       Manage cross promotions with partners including business associations, community groups, legislators and work to develop a “neighborhood partners” program in collaboration with Development and Marketing Director

·       Manage Google Ads Grant and Analytics accounts

·       Create membership marketing campaigns and strategies

·       Conduct marketing research

Communications

·       Strategize all external communications to targeted audiences including, monthly newsletters, event promotions, pre-performance reminder emails, class and camps on sale, membership drives, events, outreach, and press releases

·       Develop and maintain editorial calendar complete with social media, eblast, direct mail, and PR drop dates; ensure deadlines are met

·       Develop editorial and design style guide to help shape overall BAC branding

·       Create copy for website; work with Graphic Designer on website updates

·       Manage publicity and media relations with consistent flow of content, calendar listings and story pitches to media outlets

·       Maintain photo and video library

·       Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
Skills & Qualifications: 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

•                 Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field

•                 One to three years progressive experience in nonprofit marketing and communications, public relations, or administration

•                 Excellent organizational skills

•                 Ability to take direction, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and take initiative

•                 Strong writing and content development skills

•                 Experience working in email software such as Wordfly, Mailchimp, etc.

•                 Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

•                 Demonstrated enthusiasm for and experience with the arts and/or family programming

•                 Strong project management and community development experience

•                 Self-starter and ability to work independently; enthusiasm and true desire to assist the community

•                 Proficiency in Microsoft Office

 

Occasional evenings/weekends required. This is a full-time position.
