Call For Artists, Group Exhibition - ALL POLITICS ARE LOCAL

Jackson Junge Gallery is immediately seeking artists' submissions for their upcoming exhibition ALL POLITICS ARE LOCAL, opening on Friday, February 1, 2019 and running until March 3, 2019. This group exhibition will run concurrently with Chicago’s 2019 Mayoral Election. Artists are encouraged to submit artwork that is a commentary on this historic election. 

Submissions for the exhibition are free.

Artists in all mediums, are welcome to submit original artwork with their artistic interpretation incorporating themes revolving around the upcoming mayoral election.

It has been claimed that all politics are local. Many of the current national issues are also relevant to the citizens of Chicago.  The upcoming change of leadership will address and stir the debate about what is best for our great city. Hot topics include street parking, citizenship and our status as a sanctuary city, women’s rights, hourly wages, plastic straws, LGBTQIA rights, freedom of the press, and the list goes on and on. Jackson Junge Gallery encourages artists to convey through mixed mediums their interpretations of the important issues surrounding this election.    

All submitted work MUST conceptualize the theme above.  Priority and preference will be given to new works of art.  Artworks must be original, professionally presented and ready for installation.

Send jpegs as attachments to support@j2gallery.com with the file name as “artwork title _ artist’s last name”

No more than 8 pieces may be submitted.

The deadline for submissions isDecember 31, 2018. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.

The jury selection begins Thursday, January 3, 2019.  Artist notifications will be sent out by Monday, January 7,2019.  If selected, artwork must be received no later than Saturday, January 26, 2019.
