Become a Performing Arts Partner with Chicago Children's Museum!

Chicago Children's Museum is looking for Chicago based individuals and or Organizations/groups who can work collaboratively with the Arts and Culture Program Manager to create a presentation/experience of your culture or artistic skill.  Chicago Children's Museum is looking for Chicago based:  Youth Performers, Organizations that teach to youth, or specific cultures and artistic skills.   (Examples:  Schools, community centers, individual performer, 18 year olds or younger performers, artistic families, etc).  We appreciate working-adult-performers interested in offering an expereince to our visitors, but CCM will have to decline their submission due to specific program goals.

Chicago Children's Museum is located on Navy Pier and is home to a variety of exhibits and programs that encourage the growth and well being of every child through the action of play. 
 
 The daily program acitivties we offer visitors are free with admission and focus on some combination of:  Art, science, social emotional skills, fine/gross motor skills, math, literacy, etc.  
 
 
Made In Chicago celebrates and recognizes Chicago Children's Museum’s inclusive community of children and families from all backgrounds and age groups. This program offers visitors the opportunity to engage with a presentation of arts and culture by local Chicago artists and community members (Partners). These Performing Partners provide opportunities for first hand experiences with high-quality arts programs, presentations, and performances designed especially for children.

If interested in becoming a Partner with Chicago Children's please be aware of the following:  We serve young audiences and their families.
 
Performance Content Guidelines:
  • Demonstrate appropriate judgment while at CCM and during performance.
  • No offensive, inappropriate, overtly religious content, political content, and/or risqué attire. (For clarification, please contact the Arts and Culture Program Manager)
  • The performance should be appropriate (as stated above) and designed for the age range of Infants to 10 years old.
  • Interaction with visitors is highly recommended after discussed recommendations and approval by the Arts and Culture Program Manager.
  • CCM understands that some traditions and cultural practices may not comply completely with the items above. We will work with you to make your presentation as authentic and appropriate as possible.
Performing Partner Contract:
  • Performer’s contracts are signed at least 4 weeks from event date (Sooner for by-case situations).
  • Performances are typically Thursday Evenings (5:00 to 7:00), Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays.
  • We ask that a performance be at least 20 minutes to no longer than 50 minutes. Typical visitor’s attention averages at 20 minutes.
  • Performances are discussed and agreed upon by both parties, prior to writing contract.
  • On the day of the event, you and your group will be working closely with a CCM staff (Arts and Culture Program Manager and/or Performing Arts Assistance) to ensure that volumes and visuals are appropriate and comfortable for the visitors.
  • All contracted individuals or organization must supply a Social Security number or Federal Employee Number (respectively).
  • If you are an individual performer (not associated with an organization), you must fill out a Workers Compensation Waiver.
  • CCM values and understands the work that goes into art presented for others to enjoy – All performers are compensated for their presentation at CCM. Compensation can be discussed prior to contract being written.
